Calvin Dedrick, 53, of Roxbury was arrested by Boston Police on Sunday, February 19, 2023. Dedrick has been charged with Unlawful Possession of a Firearm, Unlawful Possession of Ammunition, Negligent Operation of a Motor Vehicle, and Failure to Stop for a Police Officer.
At approximately 8:30 AM, officers assigned to District B-3 (Mattapan), Officers responded to the area of River Street for a call for a person with a gun.
Aa officers responded to the area, they were made aware of a description of the suspect in a fleeing motor vehicle, and they observed an operator of a motor vehicle matching the suspect’s description.
When officers attempted to stop the vehicle the operator refused to stop and officers lost sight of the suspect.
While canvassing the area officer’s located the suspect’s vehicle in the area of 14 Blue Hills Parkway, Milton. Officers also observed a suspect matching the description, walking towards Mattapan Square and placed him into handcuffs without incident.
Officers recovered two firearms inside the motor vehicle that were determined to be a SCCY CPX-2 with ten rounds in the magazine, and a Jimenez Arms JA-9 with eight rounds in the magazine.
Dedrick is expected to be arraigned in Dorchester District Court on Tuesday, February 21, 2023.
