At approximately 8:40 AM on Monday October 24, 2022 Worcester Police responded to a report of a gunshot call in the area of 480 Burncoat Street. 

Upon arrival o⁰fficers located a 28-year-old male who was shot. He was taken to an area hospital where he was later pronounced dead.

As the result of an ongoing investigation, Kelvin Verde, 23, Berny Calderon, 25, and Luis Cotto, 30 have been arrested. 

Verde is charged with murder and at his initial appearance before District Court Judge Michael J. Callahan, he was held without bail and will return to court on March 13. 

Calderon is charged with murder, home invasion and assault and battery with a dangerous weapon causing serious bodily injury. At his initial appearance in Worcester District Court he was held without bail on the murder charge and bail was set at $5,000 cash on the remaining charges.

Cotto is charged with accessory after the fact to murder. At his initial appearance in Worcester District Court, bail was set at $50,000. 

Worcester Police Detectives, with assistance from the Boston Police Department and Nashua, New Hampshire Police Department gathered evidence that connected all three men to the killing and led to their arrests.
