Celtics Beat Grizzlies Behind Another Great Derrick White Performance

The Boston Celtics are coming off a win versus the Charlotte Hornets with Tatum who scored 41 points and Derrick White scored a career high 33 points. Boston has won five of their last six games. The Memphis Grizzlies are coming in off a win versus the Minnesota Timberwolves. Both teams in this matchup are playoff contenders with Boston being first in the Eastern Conference while Memphis is second in the Western Conference.

Memphis would win the first quarter with a score of 28-26 leading by two and would grow a bit of a lead going into the second quarter before Boston would go on a run of their own after being down 37-31. Boston with three minutes left in the first half would go up 52-41 in what was a 21-4 run. Boston would go on to win the second quarter 35-20 and lead the Grizzlies 61-48 going into halftime. 

The Grizzlies would begin the third quarter by going on a run of their own to tie the game up at 63 a piece. From there it was a close game throughout the rest of the third quarter with the score being Boston 83 Memphis 82 with one quarter left to play. The fourth quarter would see Boston pull away and slowly gain a 10 point lead which would eventually lead to a 10 point win with the final score 119-109. Derrick White would lead the Celtics with 23 points scoring a total of 56 points in his last two games. Ja Morant would lead the Grizzlies with 25 points.

Boston has now won six of their last seven games. Memphis lost both games to Boston in the season series losing the previous matchup earlier in the season. Memphis returns to action Wednesday when they play the Utah Jazz, while Boston will take on The Milwaukee Bucks on Tuesday.
