Houston, Texas Man Indicted For Hate Crime And Kidnapping A Transgender Woman

Salih Alhemoud, 28-years-old, of Houston, Texas was indicted by a federal grand jury on October 26, 2022 for committing a hate crime, kidnapping, and possessing a firearm during a crime of violence.

Allegedly, Alhemoud used the gay dating app “Grindr” to set up a date on August 29,  2022 with a transgender woman at her apartment. 

Upon arrival, Alhemoud allegedly pulled out a firearm and demanded her money and property. When she was unable to produce any cash, Alhemoud hit her with the firearm and stomped her on the face and chest. 

Alhemoud, also allegedly told her she was going to die and made statements such as “my religion considers you a demon,” and that she “was a demon like the others, all you trans people,” among other homosexual and transgender slurs.

Law enforcement investigating the incident, say Alhemoud may have committed similar incidents this past summer.
