Worcester Railers Improved To 11-2 With 3-2 Win Friday Night Against The Swamp Rabbits

Friday night in downtown Worcester, the Railers were back on the ice hosting the Greenville Swamp Rabbits. The Railers improved to 11-2 with their 3-2 win.

In the first period Nikita Pavlychev assisted by Joe Gatenby scored the first goal of the game. Railers had seven shots on goal in the first period while the Swamp Rabbits had six shots on goal with one completed. Score at the end of the first period was 1-0, Swamp Rabbits lead. 

In the second period the Worcester Railers had eight shots on goal and completed one goal by Jimmy Lambert assisted by Jared Brandt and Reece Newkirk. The Swamp Rabbits had just three shots on goal and completed none. The score at the end of the second period was 1-1.

In the third period the Worcester Railers had four shots on goal and completed one goal with Blade Jenkins assisted by Jeff Solow and Collin Adams. The Swamp Rabbits had six shots on goal and completed one with Carter Souch assisted by Chase Zieky and Frank Hora. The score at the end of the third was 2-2.

In overtime the Worcester Railers won this game with a goal by Collin Adams assisted by Blake Christensen and Bobby Butler. This was Adams’ second overtime goal win of the season, his first was on November 2nd. The final score at the end of OT was 2-3, Railers won.

Railers Head Coach Jordan Lavallee-Smotherman following the game called Friday night’s win “Huge.”
