Hockey was back in downtown Worcester Saturday night with Worcester Railers kicking off their 2022-23 season at home, at the DCU Center against the Adirondack Thunder.
Brent Beaudoin, Blade Jenkins and Noah Delmas each had a goal in the first period for the Railers. In the second period Reece Newkirk scored the only goal of the period for the Railers. In the third period, Blade Jenkins got his second goal of the game and for the season.
The Railers had 35 shots on goal and skated away from their season opener at home with a 5-4 win.
The railers were back on the ice Sunday afternoon for their second meeting of the weekend with the Adirondack Thunder.
Collin Adams and Steve Jandric each made a goal in the first period of the game for Worcester. The second period of this game went scoreless but in the third period, Steve Jandric made his second goal of the game and for the season. Brent Beaudoin made his second goal for the Railers for the season in the third period.
The Railers skated away from game two at home and of the season with 26 shots on goal and 4-1 win.
