WooSox Drop Game 1 Of 6 Against Buffalo Bisons

By Pamela Perez –

Monday night the WooSox were back in action at Polar Park to kick off a six-game set against the Buffalo Bisons. It was a beautiful night for the 5,144 fans in attendance, but unfortunately the 14-3 loss for the WooSox was not the expected outcome they were seeking after winning 7-5 on the road Sunday against the Syracuse Mets.

The WooSox got their runs on a two-run single in the second from Enmanuel Valdez and a Connor Wong solo home run in the eighth. Wong’s blast went 434 feet, his eighth home run in the month of August—he has also recorded hits in 10 of his last 11 games.

The WooSox will be home vs. Buffalo again tomorrow, Thursday, and Friday nights all at 6:45 pm, Saturday at 4:05 pm, and Sunday at 1:05 pm. The WooSox are in 6th-place in the IL East.

Worcester has 27 games remaining this season (12 at home and 15 on the road) and 18 of those games will come against teams directly ahead of them in the standings.
