Worcester Red Sox Shutout Tuesday Night By Durham Bulls 16-0

Tuesday night the Worcester Red Sox returned home to Polar Park and welcomed the Durham Bulls (Triple-A, Tampa Bay Rays) for the first time to Worcester. Durham had the better pitching in this game only allowing four hits, allowed no runs through the nine inning outing and struckout nine to win this game 16-0. Durham had nine runs just at the top of the fifth after getting a homer by Jim Haley at the top of the second to drive in Tistan Gray. Durham’s Ryan Boldt started of the top of the sixth with a single to drive in Tristan Gray and that was followed by a grand slam by Miles Mastrobuoni. 

Durham Bulls are in 1st-place Durham Bulls in the league with Worcester just 3 games behind 1st-place, tied with Jacksonville and Lehigh Valley for the top spot in the tight International League East Division race.

Tuesday night’s game was the 100 game of Worcester’s 150-game schedule. Worcester has just four 6-game homestands remaining during this season:  August 2-7, August 16-21, August 30-September 4, and September 20-25.
