Monday night, Worcester Red Sox Manager Chad Tracy confirmed that Brayan Bello is heading to the major league club, the Boston Red Sox. Tracy after Monday night’s game said for the moment Bello was going up to workout but the final decision is the Red Sox. Tracy said that Alex Cora has been talking about Bello as an option.
After Monday night’s WooSox 6-4 win against the RailRiders, Bello after leaving Tracy’s office was all smiles as he went back into the clubhouse high-fiving his teammates.
After asking Bello if he got good news from Tracy, he told the media outside of the clubhouse, “Yes.” When asked if he was told he would be starting Wednesday, Bello again said “Yes.” When asked how excited he was, Bello said he was “one hundred percent excited.” When asked if he was ready to go, with a sure confidence Bello said “Yea.” One of his goals Bello said was to make it to the big league and that he is super excited for Wednesday.
Bello made his triple-A debut back on May 18, his twenty third birthday and since that day he has pitched in 15 games. He is 6-2 with a 2.81 ERA and 1.169 WHIP in 51.1 innings over nine appearances (eight starts) with 72 strikeouts and 21 walks.
