Turning the page to July and the Worcester Red Sox are starting things off right with a 5-2 win against the Rochester Red Wings Friday night.
Connor Wong kicked off this game with a double at the top of the first to drive in Devlin Granberg to put Worcester on top 1-0. Before the end of the top of the first Connor Wong, Ronaldo Hernandez and Jeter Downs made it over the plate to put Worcester on top 4-0.
At the bottom of the seventh Jackson Flores and Andrew Stevenson both scored for Rochester to make it a 4-2 game. But at the top of the eighth Ronaldo Hernandez hit his seventh finger of the season to put Worcester on top 5-2 and at the bottom of the eighth Donovan Casey scored for Rochester to make it a 5-4 game.
Brayan Bello, Friday night went 5.1 innings, allowed just two hits, no runs and struck out eight.
