With the Red Sox placing Kevin Plawecki on the Covid-19-related injured list, Worcester Red Sox catcher Connor Wong is heading to Fenway.
Plawecki and two staffers from the Red Sox not on the coaching staff have tested positive for Covid-19. Plawecki has appeared in four games for the Red Sox since the start of the season and is in his third season with Boston.
Wong hit .256/.289/.442 in 208 Triple-A plate appearances last season and is out to a 4-for-16 start with the WooSox thus far in 2022.
