Tuesday, Under Secretary of Defense for Policy Dr. Colin Kahl hosted Finland Ministry of Defence Permanent Secretary Esa Pulkkinen.
During their meeting they discussed the strength of the bilateral relationship and the ongoing process to deepen new areas of defense cooperation following Secretary Austin’s meeting with Minister Kaikkonen on March 9.
They also discussed efforts to help Ukraine defend its territory and hold Russia accountable for its brutal invasion of Ukraine and both underscored the importance of maintaining transatlantic unity and re-establishing security and stability in Europe.
