On Monday night officer Matthew Anderson with the Worcester Police Department was dispatched to 100 Madison Street (Polar Park) for a reported Attempted Larceny.
Upon arrival officer Anderson was informed by Polar Park Security that an individual entered Polar Park Property through an open gate on the left side of Polar Park which clearly marked no public access.
The security officer informed officer Anderson that when he went to approach the individual, he observed that individual in the park tunnel attempting to push a lawn mower towards Madison Street. When the security officer informed this individual that he was calling the police he left the park.
Officer Anderson reviewed video footage provided by Polar Park Security and was able to inform dispatch about the description of the individual who was on video entering Polar Park and that the security officer said was attempting to steal a lawn mower.
Officers nearby in the area of 60 Foster Street (WRTA Bus Hub) observed the individual that officer Anderson described to dispatch and the individual was identified as Rafael Perez-Crespi.
A CJIS check revealed that there was an active default warrant out of Worcester District Court for Perez-Crespi he was placed under arrest by NRT Officers on officer Anderson’s PC for Attempt to Commit a Crime (Larceny from a Building) and Trespassing.
