Body Recovered From Quabbin Reservoir Identified As Missing Sturbridge Man

Massachusetts State Police have confirmed that state police divers have recovered a body of a deceased adult male from the Quabbin Reservoir.

State police say the deceased male was discovered by a DCR Ranger at the Quabbin Reservoir at approximately 8:30 AM in the lower section of the Reservoir’s spillway.

Both State Police and Sturbridge Police have identified the deceased male as George Guttler, 71, of Sturbridge, who was reported missing by his family on March 11.

State Police say “The investigation into Mr. Guttler’s death is ongoing and is being led by the Northwestern District Attorney’s Office and the State Police Detective Unit for Hampshire/Franklin Counties.”
