New England Revolution were in Mexico Wednesday night for a match with Pumas UMAN and were eliminated from the Scotiabank Concacaf Champions League after Pumas won 3-0 on the night and then prevailed 4-3 in the shootout.

During the post game press conference New England Revolution Sporting Director & Head Coach Bruce Arena said, “We made some mistakes that caused goals, but that’s the way it goes. There’s no excuses. We certainly could have been a little bit better, and the third goal is an example. We just made too many mistakes on that particular play.”

New England Revolution Defender Brandon Bye during his post game press conference was asked about the teams reaction to being eliminated and he said, “We lost the game. We’re going to be mad. We’re going to be disappointed. We had three goals up at our place. It’s not a result that we wanted, obviously. We lost the game. That’s how I feel.”

The New England Revolution on Saturday night will resume the 2022 Major League Soccer season against expansion side Charlotte FC. The match kicks off at 7:00 p.m. ET at Bank of America Stadium in Charlotte, N.C.
