Pirates Ready For 2022 Kickoff, Celtics Secure A Friday Night Win And Railers Get A W

Tatum, Smart and Brown had a combined 73 points Friday night at the TD Garden for the trio to lead the charge for the Celtics to claim a 114-103 win against the Detroit Pistons. The Celtics have won 16 of their last 18 games and have just 14 regular season games ahead of them.

On the ice in downtown Worcester Friday night, the Railers hosted the Adirondack Thunder. Jordan Smotherman had a goal in the first period assisted by Liam Coughlin and Cole Coskey then made his second goal of the game in the third period assisted again by Liam Coughlin and Cole Coskey. Nolan Vesey and Ross Olsson each made a goal in the second period for the Railers and in the third period, Blake Christensen assisted by Ross Olsson and John Furgele made a goal for the Railers who skated away from this game with a 4-5 win. 

On Saturday night, the defending IFL champions, the Massachusetts Pirates will kickoff their 2022 season at the DCU Center in a matchup with the Frisco Fighters at 7 p.m. This game will also be a celebration for the Massachusetts Pirates as they raise their first championship banner and distribute their championship rings to players and members of the 2021 organization. The Pirates went 14-3 last season with Coach Patrick Pass who is now the teams Director of Football Personnel Development. Rayshaun Kizer who last year was the teams Assistant Head Coach, Defensive Coordinator, and Secondary Coach is back this year but as the Head Coach and he’s looking to run it back for a back-to-back IFL championship.
