The U.S. men’s hockey team had their first pre-Olympic practice in Beijing but not every player on the team was on the ice.
Three members of the team, Defenseman Jake Sanderson, Defenseman Steven Kampfer and forward Andy Miele have tested positive for the coronavirus.
Sanderson is still in Los Angeles while Kampfer and Miele are isolating in the Olympic Village in Beijing.
Team USA is scheduled to hit the ice for their first game next Thursday against host China. They’ll get a day off on Friday and then will hit the ice on Saturday against Canada and Sunday will be back on the ice for a matchup against Germany.
New England, New York, New Jersey and Pennsylvania are represented with five players on Team USA. Also, Boston College, Boston University, Harvard University and Yale University are represented with eight players on Team USA.
