Holy Cross Football Ends Season With 16-21 Loss To Villanova

The Crusaders had a great run this season but Friday night their season came to a close with Villanova claiming a 16-21 win against the Crusaders.

In the first quarter with just 11:20 on the clock, Justin Covington got Villanova in this game with a TD. The point after attempt by Cole Bunce was good. At the end of the of the first quarter it was a 0-7 Villanova lead.

With just 1:12 remaining on the clock in the second quarter, Justin Covington got his second TD of the game for Villanova. The point after attempt by Cole Bunce was good. At the end of the second quarter it was a 0-14 Villanova lead.

In the third quarter with 8:38 on the clock,
Sean Morris got the Crusaders in this game with a TD and the point after attempt by Derek Ng was good. With 6:10 on the clock, Derek Ng made a 22 yard field goal for the Crusaders. With 4:37 on the clock, Jalen Jackson got a TD for Villanova and the point after attempt by Cole Bunce was good. At the end of the third quarter it was a 10-21 Villanova lead.

With 6:22 on the clock in the third quarter, Matthew Sluka got a TD for the Crusaders. The two-point pass conversion attempt by the Crusaders failed.

Some once said “Winners have to absorb losses.” The Crusaders will have to absorb this loss tonight but they have so many reasons to walk tall like winners.
