The Holy Cross Crusaders claimed their third straight win on Saturday against the Lehigh Mountain Hawks. The 31-12 win was yet another show of the Crusaders flexing their skills on both sides of the ball. The Crusaders, with today’s win are now 6-1 for the season and are number one in the Patriot League.
In the first quarter with 12:49 on the clock, Dylan Van Dusen made a 24 yard field goal to get the Hawks in this game. The first quarter ended with the Crusaders 0 and the Hawks 3.
In the second quarter the Crusaders took over this game with Jalen Coker catching a 36 yard pass from Marco Siderman and getting a TD. The point after attempt was good. Then in the final seconds of the second quarter, Marco Siderman had a 1 yard running TD. The point after attempt was good and the second quarter ended with the Crusaders 14 and the Hawks 3.
In the third quarter the Hawks, Dylan Van Dusen made a 26 yard field goal and then Jalen Burbage caught a 9 yard pass from Dante Perri to get a TD for the Hawks. The two-point pass conversion failed and the third quarter ended with the Crusaders only leading this game by two points (14-12).
But have no fear because the Crusaders were in it to win it with Mathew Sluka. They wrapped up this game in the fourth with Sluka making two touchdowns and Derek Ng making a 50 yard field goal. It was a 31-12 win for the Crusaders.
With just three games remaining in for the season, the Crusaders will return home next Saturday to host Lafayette in their final home game.
