Saturday night the WooSox were back in action at Frontier Field in Rochester. The WooSox have won the first four games of this six games series. Tuesday night they won 9-7, Wednesday night they won 4-3, Thursday night they won 10-2 and last night, Friday night they won 4-2.
Saturday night, the WooSox got the game five win, 3-0 for five straight wins. At the top of the first, Chad De La Guerra scored. At the top of the third, Grant Williams scored and then at the top of the nineth, Tate Matheny scored.
Worcester and Rochester will meet again Sunday and Worcester Wll be looking for a game six win to wrap this series up and then come back home, after being on the road for the past two weeks.
In downtown Worcester Saturday night, At the DCU Center the Massachusetts Pirates played game 2 of the the IFL playoffs. The Pirates have won their last nine contests and Saturday night against the Frisco Fighters, with a 43-22 victorious win, it is now ten straight wins. The Pirates have punched their ticket to the United Bowl.
DB Harlen Miller got the Pirates on the board in this game with a pick 6.
With just under nine minutes on the clock in the second, Justin Stockton got a TD. Also, in the second, DB Khalid Wooten had a fumble recovery. The Pirates got the ball and Alejandro Bennifield connected with Lequivonte Gonzalez deep in the back field to get a TD.
With just under two minutes in the second quarter, DB Santos Ramirez got a fumble recovery.
In the third quarter, right out of the gate Alejandro Bennifield connected with Thomas Owens in the red zone for a TD.
With less than four minutes on the clock in the third quarter, Justin Stockton got his second TD of the game.
With 14:03 on the clock in the fourth quarter, Thomas Owens, showed up for a big play that the Pirates needed, got his second receiving TD and this is where it came down to a 43-22, Pirates game.
