Worcester Get 5 Straight Wins Beating Buffalo 4-1

A Friday night in Buffalo with the Worcester red Sox looking to continue their winning streak. The Buffalo Bisons, they were looking to snap the Worcester Red Sox winning streak.

The first five innings of this game went scoreless on both sides. At the top of the 5th,  Josh Ockimey hit his 15th homer of the season and got two RBI (Joey Meneses and Jeter Downs) and it was a 4-0 Worcester lead.

In the bottom of the 6th, Cullen Large scored for Buffalo and it was a 3-1, Worcester game.

At the top of the 7th, Connor Wong hit his 5th homer of the season and it was a 4-1, Worcester game.

The final in Buffalo was Worcester 4 and Buffalo 1. Worcester has now won their last five games. Four of those games won have been in Buffalo and one game was against the RailRiders on Saturday, at home.

Friday night, Jonathan Arauz and Yairo Munoz were not with the Worcester Red Sox but instead they were called up to the Boston Red Sox as Boston started their three-game series in Cleveland on Friday night.

Araúz and Munoz will be filling the spots of Kiké Hernandez and Christian Arroyo. Hernandez has tested positive for COVID-19 and Arroyo has been deemed a close contact. Alex Cora said “They’ll be out for obviously an extended period of time.”

Saturday night, will be game five of this six game series in Buffalo. The Worcester Red Sox will look to extend their winning streak to six.
