The Public Market on Green Street has a new shop. “The WooSox Shop” officially opened yesterday with a ribbon cutting ceremony.
Allen Fletcher, who created the Worcester Public Market, and Dominic Mercurio, its Executive Director, joined WooSox President, Dr Charles Steinberg in the ribbon-cutting.
“The WooSox Shop” is a storefront outpost and will sell gifts, souvenirs, and merchandise. The WooSox say it will “Also serves as an information center for the pedestrian traffic that fills the resurgent Canal District in Worcester, New England’s second-largest city.”
WooSox President, Dr. Charles Steinberg said. “We are happy to be among the shops, stands, and restaurants that reflect our local culture.”
The WooSox say that the WooSox Shop will hopefully hold events such as appearances by former Red Sox players, current WooSox players, and Smiley Ball, the club’s mascot.
