Worcester’s annual Independence Day fireworks celebration, is cancelled for a second year because of the coronavirus pandemic.
The Worcester Regional Chamber of Commerce and city officials said they made the call out of an abundance of caution, believing it is still “in everyone’s best interest to avoid large, in-person gatherings where it’s more difficult to control the spread of the virus.”
The Worcester Red Sox plan to set off fireworks for fans between Friday, July 2 and Sunday, July 4.
