On Monday, Governor Charlie Baker and Lt. Governor Karyn Polito will host a press conference with Secretary of Health and Human Services Marylou Sudders and Massachusetts General Hospital Center for Disaster Medicine Director Dr. Paul Biddinger to discuss progress toward vaccinating the Commonwealth’s goal of over four million people.
The Governor’s office on Sunday night announced that in December, the state set a goal to vaccinate at least 4.1 million people through a series of phases, starting with health care workers and the most vulnerable populations.
In a statement the Governor’s office said, “The Commonwealth is a national leader in vaccine distribution and has stood up over 900 public sites where people can conveniently schedule a vaccine appointment.”
At Monday’s 10:00 a.m. press conference, the Governor’s office says “The administration will discuss the state’s vaccine progress in more detail and provide information on the next phase of vaccination clinics that will pivot to reach people through smaller scale operations focusing on particular communities or populations.”
