State Police have confirmed that on Friday a passenger aboard an Emirates Flight enroute from Dubai to Boston went into cardiac arrest.
State Police say that the passenger was a 59-year-old male from Worcester and they were notified around 12:30 p.m. as the aircraft was inbound to Boston. The aircraft arrived at the gate at 2:55 p.m. and at 3 p.m. Boston EMS determined the passenger was deceased.
The passenger who did not have any pre-existing medical conditions, traveled from Boston to Chennai, India on March 4 and had been sick with gastrointestinal problems for several days prior to and including the day of his death.
The cause and manner of death is pending autopsy results from the Chief Medical Examiner who is testing the passenger for COVID-19 as part of a post-mortem examination.
