Shaftsbury, VT – A New York man has been cited for excessive speed and negligent operation following a traffic stop.
Trooper Craig Negrin of the Vermont State Police Shaftsbury Barracks said the stop occurred around 7:20 p.m. on Feb. 28, along U.S. Route 7 in Shaftsbury.
The drivers identified as Leonard Swerdlof, 36, of New York, New York, was issued a citation to appear before the Bennington County Superior Court, Criminal Division on April 13 at 8:30 a.m. to answer the charges.
Swerdlof is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
