Worcester, Massachusetts — The City of Worcester will lift its Declared Winter Parking Ban at 7 a.m. on Wednesday, December 3, 2025, ending restrictions put in place ahead of this week’s storm. Residents who used municipal garages during the ban will have until 4 p.m. Wednesday to exit without charge. Regular parking rates will resume for vehicles entering garages after 7 a.m.
City officials emphasized that a Permanent Winter Parking Ban remains in effect through April 30, 2025, covering Emergency Arteries, Worcester Regional Transit Authority bus routes, and other streets essential for traffic flow. On these streets, parking is prohibited on one or both sides between 2 a.m. and 6 a.m. and at any time a snow emergency is declared.
Trash and recycling pickup will continue on schedule. Fall leaf collection, which has experienced earlier delays, will remain behind.
The city reminded residents and business owners of their responsibility to clear and treat sidewalks within 10 hours after snowfall ends, as required by Worcester’s Sidewalk Snow Removal Ordinance. Property owners must remove snow and ice along the full length of adjacent sidewalks, ensuring a cleared width of at least four feet. Crosswalk ramps must also be cleared. Failure to comply can result in a $75 fine.
