WORCESTER, Mass. — A 30-year-old Worcester woman has gone missing after leaving work — and now police are sounding the alarm.

Joanna Brown, a longtime employee at The Bean Counter on Grove Street, was last seen around 9 a.m. on Friday, October 31, walking out of the bakery where she’s worked for nearly a decade. Since then — nothing. No calls, no messages, no sign of her car — a gray 2025 Mitsubishi Outlander with Massachusetts plates 5GPN93.

Cops say Brown could be somewhere in the Holyoke or Springfield area, but right now, it’s a mystery. She’s 5’6” with hazel eyes — and her sudden disappearance has stunned everyone who knows her. Friends say this isn’t like her. She never misses work, never ghosts anyone.

Her coworkers at The Bean Counter are desperate for answers. In a Facebook post Monday, the bakery called her a “valuable member of our team,” writing, “She has been greeting our customers with her smile for 8 years! She has never just not show up for her shift until Saturday November 1st.”

They ended the message with heartbreak and hope: “We miss her terribly and [are] praying for her safe return.”

Police are urging anyone who’s seen Joanna Brown or her vehicle to call 911 immediately or contact Worcester Police at 508-799-8606.
