FITCHBURG, Mass. — On Saturday, October 25th, at approximately 10:29 p.m., the Fitchburg Police Department received multiple reports of gunshots near the 200 block of Plymouth Street.

Upon arrival, officers located an adult male victim suffering from a single gunshot wound. The victim was alert and conscious at the scene and was transported by ambulance to a local hospital, where he is currently listed in stable condition.

During the course of the investigation, a suspect was identified, and a BOLO was issued to neighboring law enforcement agencies. At approximately 1:00 a.m., officers from the Winchendon Police Department located the suspect and took him into custody without incident.

The suspect has been identified as Gabriel Rivera, 18, of Gardner, Massachusetts. Rivera is currently being held by the Fitchburg Police Department and is expected to be arraigned on multiple charges in Fitchburg District Court on Monday, October 27, 2025.

According to police, this incident does not appear to be a random act of violence, as the individuals involved are believed to be known to each other.
