NORTH HAMPTON, N.H. – Four people were seriously injured Sunday evening in a three-vehicle crash that closed Interstate 95 southbound in North Hampton for several hours.

At about 5:10 p.m. on August 31, 2025, Troopers from the Troop A barracks responded to a collision involving a 2009 Toyota Avalon, a 2018 GMC Sierra, and a 2019 Toyota Tacoma.

According to a preliminary investigation, the Avalon, driven by Jaceline Miranda Gomes, 29, of New Bedford, Mass., collided with the GMC Sierra, driven by Anthony Crudale, 33, of Plaistow, N.H.. The impact forced the Avalon across the median and into the southbound lanes, where it struck the Toyota Tacoma, driven by Sandy Herbert, 71, of Newburyport, Mass.

  • Gomes and an adult passenger sustained life-threatening injuries.
  • Herbert and a juvenile passenger in Gomes’ vehicle were also seriously injured.
  • Crudale was not hurt.

The crash forced a complete shutdown of I-95 southbound. The left lane reopened around 6 p.m., with all lanes back open by 10 p.m.

Emergency response included North Hampton Fire Rescue, Greenland Fire Department, Hampton Fire Rescue, Rye Fire Rescue, Seabrook Fire Department, Portsmouth police and fire, and the New Hampshire Department of Transportation.
