On Tuesday in Providence, Rhode Island, Superior Court Justice Kristin E. Rodgers sentenced Quelon Page, 33, formerly of Providence to two consecutive life sentences for the murder of 25-year-old Tyreik Grundy in 2021.
In May, a jury found Page guilty of one count of first-degree murder, one count of conspiracy to commit assault with a dangerous weapon, one count of discharging a firearm during the commission of a crime of violence, and one count carrying a pistol without a license.
On May 14, 2021, on Pope Street in Providence, Page exited a white Infiniti, walked up to an SUV, opened the rear passenger door where Tyreik Grundy sat and shot him six times, before fleeing the scene.
Police eventually located the white Infiniti and seized it, along with a cell phone belonging to Page. Investigators determined that the cell phone was in the vicinity of Pope Street at the time of the murder, and also discovered that the search history of the phone included terms related to the murder in the days following the incident.
In addition to the two consecutive life sentences, Justice Rodgers also sentenced Page to serve an additional six-year consecutive sentence to serve at the ACI.
