Authorities are actively investigating an officer-involved shooting that occurred on South Ashburnham Road in Westminster shortly before 5 p.m. on Monday.
According to preliminary reports, the officer involved in the incident was not injured and is safe. The suspect, however, sustained a gunshot wound during the encounter. Emergency responders administered CPR at the scene before the individual was transported Priority Level 1—indicating life-threatening injuries—to a nearby hospital.

Multiple units from the Westminster Police, Massachusetts State Police, including several detectives, have responded and remain on scene as part of the ongoing investigation.
At this time, officials have not released details regarding the events leading up to the shooting. The situation remains fluid, and authorities are expected to provide additional information as it becomes available.
Residents are advised to avoid the area while the investigation continues.
