The New England Patriots have made a few moves as the 2026 NFL Free Agency Period has begun, but none might be bigger than signing former Green Bay Packers wide receiver Romeo Doubs to a four-year deal worth $80M in total.
Doubs was drafted in the fourth round by the Packers in the 2022 NFL Draft out of the University of Nevada. In his four seasons in Green Bay, including a rookie season catching passes from Aaron Rodgers, Doubs caught 202 passes for 2,424 yards and 21 touchdowns.
He had a career year in 2025, catching 55 passes for 724 yards and six touchdowns.
He now joins a Patriots team that recently released wide receiver Stefon Diggs, who spent just one season in New England. The team also has former Buffalo Bills wide receiver Mack Collins, who also joined from the Bills, fourth-year receiver Kayshon Boutte, Demario Douglas, and undrafted free agent Efton Chisom III on their depth chart.
The Patriots, led by head coach Mike Vrabel, fell in Super Bowl LX to the Seattle Seahawks, 29-13 on Feb. 8. They now have to most Super Bowl losses of any franchise with six. They are also tied with the Pittsburgh Steelers for the most Super Bowl wins, also six.
