New York – New York State Police are investigating a fatal motor vehicle collision involving a motorcycle and a passenger vehicle on State Route 40.
Troopers were dispatched to the State Route 40 area at 7:40 p.m. on Feb. 28 for reports of a crash. When they arrived, they located a motorcycle and a passenger vehicle involved in a collision.
The operator of the motorcycle was pronounced deceased at the scene.
For several hours, State Route 40 was closed while emergency personnel conducted an on-scene investigation and cleared the roadway. The road was reopened at 11:30 p.m.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation. The identity of the deceased is being withheld pending proper notification of next of kin.
