Boston – A 27-year-old Dorchester resident has been identified as a suspected cocaine distributor as part of an ongoing narcotics investigation in the neighborhood of Edward Everett Square.

Search warrants were obtained after officers conducted investigative work for the suspect and his residence on Chase Street in Dorchester.

On Feb. 27 at 10:21 am, Jamaica Plain’s (E-13), West Roxbury’s (E-5), and South Boston’s (C-6 Drug Control units stopped the suspect while he was talking along East Cottage Street. During this time, court-approved search warrants were executed.

During a search, a plastic bag containing four separate packages of cocaine, along with a wallet and an unspecified amount of cash, was recovered.

Officers took a 27-year-old male into custody, and he was charged with possession with intent to distribute a Class B Substance. He is scheduled to be arraigned in Dorchester District Court.

Later, police arrived at the suspect’s residence on Chase Street and searched, but no additional evidence was discovered during that search.
