Boston – After investigating for several months, police secured search warrants for a 33-year-old Dorchester man as the suspected distributor of crack cocaine that is operating in the Edward Everett Square neighborhood.
On Feb. 2, the Dorchester C-11 and Roxbury B-2 Drug Control Units observed the suspect leaving his home and driving toward the South Bay area. A traffic stop was initiated near Massachusetts Avenue, and a court-authorized search warrant was obtained.
At this time, the suspect was removed from the vehicle without incident. A cellphone, an unspecified amount of cash, and keys were confiscated. The key was used later to enter the residence where a safe was located inside.
A search warrant was later executed at the Elder Street apartment by investigators, where two adult females were located inside. During the investigation, officers learned that the 21-year-old female resident had an active warrant related to possession with intent to distribute a Class B substance. She was taken into custody without incident and scheduled to appear in Dorchester District Court.
During the apartment search, 26.9 grams of crack cocaine were removed by officers. Common items linked to drug distribution were also confiscated, including a digital scale, plastic containers, packaging materials, and personal belongings of the primary suspect.
The 33-year-old suspect was arrested and is facing trafficking charges at his arraignment is Dorchester District Court involving 18 grams or more but less than 36 grams.
