Boston – Shawn Walker, 24, of Dorchester, was arrested on Feb. 22 by officers of the South End District (D-4).
At around 12:20 pm, police responded to the Newbury Street area after a report of a larceny that occurred at Abercrombie and Fitch. Loss prevention advised police that they were following Mr. Walker, who was at the intersection of Belvidere Street and Huntington Ave.
Walker was observed by officers holding two large Abercrombie bags. As officers attempted to place him into custody, Walker began to resist by tensing up his body, but with assistance from responding officers, he was placed into handcuffs.
Over $1,850 of stolen merchandise was recovered and returned to the store. Walker provided officers with a false name during the booking process.
Walker was placed under arrest and charged with Shoplifting by Asportation, Second Offense, Resist Arrest, and Furnish False ID Information to Law Enforcement. He is expected to be arraigned in Boston Municipal Court.
He is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
