WORCESTER – Shortly after midnight Saturday, emergency crews responded to the area of 841 Grove St along RT 122 following a phone crash notification and reports from a passerby.
Upon arrival, first responders located a female driver who had struck an electrical pole before her Toyota RAV4 traveled down an embankment into a wooded area. The victim was found in and out of consciousness and suffering from significant bleeding.
She was transported to a local hospital as a Priority 2, Level 1 trauma. Her current condition has not been released.
National Grid responded to the scene to evaluate damage to the electrical lines, which resulted in a power outage affecting nearby residents. The vehicle was later removed from the embankment.
