WORCESTER, Mass. — A coordinated law enforcement takedown in Worcester ripped open what investigators say was a dangerous stash of guns and deadly drugs hidden inside a Pleasant Street residence.
An investigation led by the Worcester Police Department Crime Gun Intelligence Unit, alongside the Gang Unit and Detective Bureau, with assistance from ATF, DEA, and the Worcester County Sheriff’s Office, culminated in a search warrant targeting the apartment.
On February 2, 2026, at approximately 9:20 a.m., investigators watched 31-year-old Michael Harris, the target of the warrant, exit the building. Harris was stopped a short distance away as the WPD SWAT Team moved in and made entry into the apartment, executing the search warrant.
What detectives found inside was alarming.

During the search, officers recovered two firearms, including one that had been previously reported stolen. Detectives also seized ammunition, 95.4 grams of fentanyl, 112.5 grams of methamphetamine, and 497 grams of cocaine, along with drug packaging materials. Investigators also recovered $1,368 in U.S. currency.

Police say the drugs and weapons underscore the deadly combination of firearms and large-scale narcotics trafficking operating inside a residential neighborhood.
Michael Harris now faces a long list of serious charges, including possession of a firearm without an FID, possession of ammunition without an FID, trafficking in fentanyl, trafficking a Class B substance over 200 grams, trafficking methamphetamine over 100 grams, use of a firearm in the commission of a felony, receiving stolen property, improper storage of a firearm, and possession of a firearm without a serial number.
Authorities say the investigation highlights continued efforts by local, state, and federal agencies to target illegal guns and dangerous narcotics before they cause further harm in the community.
