The Jets host the Bills at MetLife Stadium in what promises to be a heavyweight AFC East clash. At first glance, the Bills are the safer pick, boasting a prolific offense led by Josh Allen, who threw for 394 yards and three touchdowns in Week 1. Tight ends Dalton Kincaid and Dawson Knox, along with rookie Keon Coleman, give Buffalo mismatches all over the field. But scratch the surface, and this game could be far closer than the six-point spread suggests.

The Jets bring a lethal ground attack, led by Breece Hall, who ripped off 107 yards on 19 carries last week. Buffalo’s run defense was carved up by Baltimore, allowing 238 rushing yards, and the absence of Ed Oliver only worsens that matchup. If New York can control the clock and sustain drives on the ground, they force Josh Allen to win with his arm, something the Jets secondary can exploit—even with All-Pro corner Sauce Gardner dealing with a groin issue.

Justin Fields adds another dynamic dimension. While his passing consistency is still a question, his ability to scramble and extend plays mirrors the dual-threat style that has given Buffalo fits in the past. MetLife Stadium has historically been unkind to the Bills, with the home underdog covering in two of the last three meetings.

Defensively, the Jets will need to replicate their stout Week 1 run performance and pressure Allen enough to make him uncomfortable, but if Gardner is limited, the Bills could hit chunk plays downfield. Both teams have defensive vulnerabilities, meaning this could turn into a high-scoring affair, with each squad capable of putting up points in bunches.

Expect a tense, see-saw battle. Buffalo has the firepower to win, but the Jets’ strengths on the ground and home-field edge make them a real threat to keep the score tight.

Prediction: Bills 31, Jets 28. Expect an over on the total as both offenses exploit defensive weaknesses, but the Jets’ run game keeps the upset window open.
