In a thrilling afternoon in Indianapolis, Indiana, Winston-Salem State University emerged victorious over Virginia Union with a commanding score of 64-47 in the prestigious NBA HBCU Classic, hosted for the third consecutive time.
The Rams were led by the exceptional performances of Ketron “KC” Shaw, who showcased his scoring prowess with an impressive 15 points. Jaylen Alston displayed his versatility by achieving a double-double with 14 points and 11 rebounds, while Isaac Parson also secured a double-double with 12 points and 11 assists. Jaylin Parker contributed significantly with 11 points, further solidifying the team’s dominance on the court.
On the opposing side, Virginia Union’s Tahj Harding displayed resilience with 11 points, closely followed by Travis Vaughn’s nine-point contribution in a hard-fought game.
This exhilarating matchup between two renowned NCAA Division II teams representing historically Black universities took place on the same court where the NBA’s All-Stars are set to showcase their talents on Sunday night.
