Stannard, VT – A Stannard man is facing multiple serious charges following an incident that led to the involvment of several Vermont State Police troopers Sunday evening.
According to authorities, troopers from the St. Johnsbury Barracks responded to Tousant Hill Road at 7:39 p.m. on March 29, for a reported disturbance.
Police report that Leonidas Tardif, 63, of Stannard, was taken into custody following the investigation. He is charged with domestic assault and interference with access to emergency services. Additional charges include four counts of aggravated assault on law enforcement officers, five counts of criminal threatening, impeding a law enforcement officer, and resisting arrest.
Officials stated that victim information is not being released in accordance with policies regarding domestic violence cases.
Tardif was transported to the Northeast Regional Correctional Complex, where he was held without bail.
He is scheduled to appear in Caledonia County court in March 30 at 12:30 p.m.
The incident remains under investigation.
