Connecticut Sun Grab 79-70 Victory Against Los Angeles Sparks

Tuesday night, the Connecticut Sun secured an impressive 79-70 victory against the Los Angeles Sparks at the Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, CT. This win propelled the Sun to a stellar 13-1 overall record, with an 8-1 home record, marking the best start in franchise history. The team had previously achieved a 12-2 start during the 2005 season.

Notably, the Sun extended their winning streak against the Sparks to ten games since the 2020 season. 

DeWanna Bonner had a standout performance with 16 points, seven rebounds, one assist, two steals, and two blocks. Ty Harris contributed 14 points, two assists, and one steal, while Alyssa Thomas showcased her all-around skills with 11 points, seven rebounds, seven assists, and three steals.

The Sun’s strong defensive efforts forced the Sparks into committing 24 turnovers, which the Sun capitalized on by scoring a season-high 30 points off those mistakes. Additionally, the Sun dominated inside the paint, outscoring the Sparks with a season-high 50 points compared to their 32.

Looking ahead, the Sun is set to face the Las Vegas Aces on Friday, June 21 at the Michelob Ultra Arena as they continue their pursuit of victory.
