5 People Arrested In Vermont State Police Drug Bust In Springfield, Vermont

Vermont State Police on Tuesday arrested five individuals on drug charges in Springfield, Vermont. 

Michael Spaulding, 50 of Springfield, Vermont was charged with Sale of Cocaine x2, Sale of Fentanyl x2.

Jesse Morey, 31, of Springfield, Vermont, was charged with Sale of Cocaine, Sale of Fentanyl.

Douglas Marsh, 54, of Springfield, Vermont, was charged with Sale of Cocaine and also had an outstanding warrant for possession of heroin and possession of stolen property.

Gianni Gamble, 22, of Springfield, Massachusetts, was charged with Fentanyl Trafficking, Cocaine Trafficking, Person Prohibited from Possessing a Firearm, and Possession of Stolen Property.

Joshua Garcia, 25, of Springfield, Massachusetts, was charged with Fentanyl Trafficking, Cocaine Trafficking, and Possession of Stolen Property.

Following a months-long drug investigation into the distribution of fentanyl and cocaine, Vermont State Police executed a search warrant at 37 Reed St. in Springfield, Vermont on Tuesday. 

During a search of a living room which was allegedly used by Joshua Garcia and Gianni Gamble, police found more than 10,000 bags of fentanyl (approximately 223 grams), over 9 ounces of cocaine base (approximately 260 grams), approximately 52 grams of crack cocaine, ammunition, and two handguns which Vermont State Police said were stolen out of New Hampshire.

During their investigation, the Vermont State Police Drug Task Force used confidential informants who purchased fentanyl and cocaine from Spaulding on two separate occasions and Morey on one occasion, along with a single purchase of cocaine from Marsh.

Morey, Spaulding, Marsh, Garcia, and Gamble were processed at the Westminster State Police Barracks before being transported to the Southern State Correctional Facility in Springfield. All five men are expected to appear Wednesday in the Criminal Division of Vermont Superior Court in White River Junction.
