One Game to Glory Celtics Take Game 3

By Darryl Harding Sr –

In the history of the NBA 156 times teams have been down 3-0 in playoff series and 156 times they have lost. No one has ever come back from a 3-0 deficit and Celtics fans do not expect the Mavs to make history this year.

Although Jason Tatum and Jaylen Brown both scored over 30 points, the Mavs almost defeated the Celtics bringing the score within one point in the fourth quarter 93-92.

Honestly had it not been for the Mavericks Luka Doncic fouling out of the game with a little over 4 minutes left, Dallas may have been victorious. Brown and Tatum, the highest scoring duo during the regular season, came through and staved off the Mavericks run eventhough by Dallas’s duo.

Although Kyrie Irving scored 35 points to add to Doncic’s 27, it was not enough to quell the Celtics 4th quarter barrage. Desperately trying to avoid going down three games the Mavericks unfortunately were outscored 35 to 19 in the third quarter.

Without this strong third quarter the Celtics may have very easily giving away the game, but now with this win they are one game away from hanging Banner number 18 and joining Celtics champions of the past.

Not only will they win banner #18 but they will inch ahead of the LA Lakers to become the best team in NBA franchise history. Once again Celtics defense held the Mavs to under 100 points for the third time this series showing their resilience and character as fended off a desperate Mavericks onslaught in the 4th.

Game 4 will be played in Dallas Friday at 8:30 where the Mavericks face elimination and the Celtics anticipate the culmination of their Championship run.
