Connecticut Sun Win Second in a Row

The Chicago Sky and Connecticut Sun faced off in a WNBA Commissioner’s Cup game at the Wintrust Arena in Chicago, IL on Wednesday night. The Sky were coming off an 89-80 loss to the Atlanta Dream on Saturday while the Sun were looking to win their second consecutive game after dropping their first game of the season to the New York Liberty on Saturday.

Sky rookie Angel Reese scored a career-high 20 points in this game, but it wasn’t enough as the Sun went on to win 83-75. Down by just five entering the fourth quarter, the Sky found themselves down by as much as 13 following a 10-3 run by Connecticut to start the final quarter.

Alyssa Thomas scored 10 of her 20 points in the quarter for the Sun and they outscored the Sky in the final three quarters after trailing 20-16 at the end of the first quarte. The loss drops Chicago to 4-7 and is their 4th loss in their fifth game in June while the Sun improve to 11-1.

Chicago will go on the road to Washington, DC to take on the Mystics on Friday night. The Sun will travel to Dallas for a matchup with the Wings on Saturday afternoon.
