After a primetime win Thursday night versus the Golden State Warriors, the Boston Celtics now travel to Canada to take on the Toronto Raptors.
The Celtics will be without their star forward Jayson Tatum who will not be playing due to left wrist soreness.
The Celtics will try to extend their win streak of eight games which started January 5th after what was a bit of a slump to end 2022.
The Celtics won the previous matchup against the Raptors after splitting the season series last year. That previous win was fueled by a 31 point 12 rebound performance from Tatum.
With Grant Williams getting the start tonight in place of the star, questions loom on how Boston will play without their star. So far this season Boston is 1-1 when Tatum doesn’t play.
Players like Malcolm Brogdon and Al Horford are people to watch out for in this matchup as Horford is coming off a stellar 20 point 10 rebound performance which was his 4th double-double of the season.
Brogdon has been a great bench help after being acquired in the off season for the celtics. Both Brogdon and Horford have been shooting great from beyond the arc. Both are shooting over 40% from three and rank top 10 in 3 point percentage.
Tonight’s game is at 5pm eastern standard time as the Celtics look to improve to 9 straight wins and a league high record of 35-12.
The Raptors look to gain an upset win and get a 21-26 record and help their playoff chances as they are 11th right now in the Eastern Conference.
