Wednesday was the start of the final stretch, the final homestand for the Worcester Red Sox. After a delayed start to the game because of weather, the Worcester Red Sox claimed a 4-3 win against the Rochester Red Wings.
The pregame excitement Wednesday night was all about Triston Casas, who is the Red Sox number one prospect and ranked as the 18th overall prospect in all of Minor League Baseball. Well Casas made his Triple-A debut tonight he delivered a homer and an RBI (Jonathan Araúz) in the bottom of the third.
Franchy Cordero also delivered a homer for the WooSox in the bottom of the third. It would be his 5th homer in September and his 11th homer this season.
In the bottom of the fourth, Taylor Motter got a run.
Starting at the mound Wednesday night was Espinal, who went five innings, gave up four hits, allowed only two runs and had five strikeouts.
This final homestand is five games and game two in the Canal District will be played Thursday night.
