On a beautiful Friday night at NBT Bank Stadium, The Worcester Red Sox played the Syracuse Mets in game three of a five game series. But all did not end well for the Worcester Red Sox as the Syracuse Mets claimed a 1-7 win.
Friday night was the second loss this season for the Worcester Red Sox in Syracuse. The Worcester Red Sox are now 7-2 at NBT Bank Stadium.
This game was scoreless on both sides until the bottom of the third. For Syracuse, Mark Vientos got his first double and then that was followed by Khalil Lee hitting his 12th homer out over the Salt City Deck. At the the end of the third inning it was 0-2, Syracuse lead.
At the top of the 5th, the Worcester Red Sox got into this game with Jeter Downs hitting his 13th homer of the season over the Syracuse bullpen and out of the park.
In the bottom of the 5th, Syracuse responded to Jeter’s homer with Drew Jackson hitting his 8th homer of the season. The 5th inning ended 1-3, Syracuse lead.
Bottom of the 6th, Drew Jackson got his 11th double of the season and that drove in Cheslor Cuthbert to make it a 1-4, Syracuse lead.
At the bottom of the 7th, for Syracuse, Mark Vientos hit his first Triple-A homer out into the Salt Cith Deck to make it a 1-5, Syracuse lead.
In the bottom of the 8th, Patrick Mazeika, the Springfield native, hit his 7th homer of the season to make it a 1-6, Syracuse lead. Cheslor Cuthbert followed up hitting his 16th homer of the season to make it a 1-7, Syracuse lead.
