On Wednesday the City of Worcester announced that City Manager Edward Mr. Augustus Jr., on Wednesday tested positive for the coronavirus and is currently in isolation.
The City Manager in a statement released Wednesday says, “I did not feel well when I woke up Tuesday morning, and following COVID-19 protocols, I stayed out of work and went for a test. I learned today that the test produced a positive result,”
The City Manager is in isolation at his home and says, “I want to assure people there has been no interruption to the day-to-day functions of City government.”
Twenty people have been identified that have had direct exposure to the City Manager and and the City of Worcester says those individuals all are currently in quarantine, per CDC guidelines, and are following all COVID-19 protocols.
